Running vanilla; we don't use Bukkit nor Spigot. Plugins are fairy tales to us.
Classic survival config; the world difficulty is set to Normal, and most of the settings are left to default. The world generate with half-sized large biomes, which make them neither too small, nor too big.
Snapshot versions; one of the biggest perk of running a vanilla server is that we get to access development versions as they are released. We always try to update to them as soon as they become available, unless they contain major exploits or bugs.
Simplistic spawn; our spawn is small, simple, and straightforward. It's theoretically impossible to get lost in it.
Simplistic commands; we give our players access to a few custom commands to encourage social meetups and to slightly improve gameplay. This include a command to get to spawn, and one that take you back to your bed/spawn point.
Spreader; a small closed forest behind the spawn contain a pressure plate that can instantly teleport you somewhere outside the spawn protection radius.
Balanced staff; the moderators don't have access to game-changing commands, and will play the game legitimately just like you do. Even the owners plays the game like anybody else.
PvP; make friends and foes alike.
Greifing and raiding is tolerated; building far away from spawn is encouraged. You can currently go up to 200k blocks in each directions, which should be plenty.
Less igneous rocks; a minor tweak in our world gen algorithm is a significant decrease in the generation of granite, diorite, and andesite. We feel like they're more hideous than igneous.
Custom Advancements; we offer some customized advancements in addition to the vanilla ones. We also tweaked a few vanilla advancements to make them more adapted for multiplayer.
MultiCraft panel; the server uses MultiCraft, a control panel which allow us to create shortcuts for the triggers commands. For example, typing `.spawn` will execute `/trigger spawn add 1`.
Long-running, trustworthy server; MCBF was created back in 2012, and is still online nowadays.
Opened 24/7; unless a maintenance is going on, you're always free to connect and play.
